Steele's Conner Childs wins Microsoft Office skills state championship
Steele Early College High School junior Conner Childs won the state championship for mastery of Microsoft software, an honor that will now allow him to compete against the best in the nation to showcase his skills.
Conner scored high enough on the Microsoft Office Skills Excel 2019 exam, earning the title of Texas Champion from Certiport, a leading certification exam firm. He will now compete in Certiport’s 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in Orlando from June 26-28.
“We are so proud of Conner and all of his accomplishments at Steele," said Mr. Todd Rogers, principal of Steele Early College High School. “He is a very hard worker and strives for excellence every day!”
Conner obtained his Microsoft Office Specialist Master/Expert certification, with certifications in seven Microsoft Office programs, in Sarah Zeballos’ career and technical education classes offered at the high school.
